This is a good friend of mine, Kaylie. She and her 18-month-old Lana have been missing since May 1st. Police haven’t issued an Amber Alert because Lana was last seen with Kaylie, and police aren’t doing much to look for either because it’s “common” for adults to leave. What isn’t common is for this young woman to up and leave without a word to her friends and family. I know posting on here probably won’t do much good, but I have to try. There is a lot going on right now, and there are some bad things happening. There was a murder near where she was supposed to be heading, three bodies, one female, baby clothes were found. I don’t want to believe it’s her. I want your help. If you’ve seen Kaylie or Lana, please call authorities, and maybe post on this facebook group to let us know. Please. I want to have hope, and tumblr is a large, connected web, reaching everywhere, so maybe this’ll reach someone with information.

I’m glad I know I love you, because now I know I wasn’t imagining you. I was even thinking I was bad… I love you even though I’m afraid of you. Maybe someday I won’t be.

East of Eden

I visited Japan in November 2011 for the exclusive purpose of urban exploration on Hashima Island. The island, completely abandoned since 1974, sits in the southwest coast of Japan in the East China Sea. Only a few people have been able to access the island for the purposes of urban exploration photography. We were fortunate to be the only people to ever get 8 hours of uninterrupted access to the island.

“Hashima Island, commonly called Gunkanjima or Gunkanshima (軍艦島; meaning Battleship Island), is one among 505 uninhabited islands in the Nagasaki Prefecture about 15 kilometers from Nagasaki itself.

The island was populated from 1887 to 1974 as a coal mining facility. The island’s most notable features are the abandoned concrete buildings and the sea wall surrounding it.” ~wikipedia
